Midwest Generation is one of the largest independent power producers
in the United States. Midwest Generation produces enough electricity
to meet the needs of more than 13 million households.
With offices in Downtown Chicago, Midwest Generation is a subsidiary of Edison
Mission Energy (EME) and part of the Edison International family of companies.
Primarily in the business of generating electricity to sell wholesale in the open
market, the company owns and operates 12 electric power generating facilities in
Illinois and also supervises operation of a plant in western Pennsylvania. These
facilities can generate 11,171 megawatts. In total, Midwest Generation oversees the
operation of $7 billion in assets and employs 1,450 workers. |
